Author Topic: 2012 END OF THE WORLD  (Read 13339 times)

We all know the earth will end, thankfully not in our lifetimes! Just
because the mayians ended the calander in 2012 didn't mean the
world will end then
, they got too damn lazy to go to 2013...or higher...

And if the world does end in 2012, just live happily...

also, i don't see why the mayan calendar ending = end of the world.
could just mean it starts over. its no different then our calender ending at December 31, cept people know it restarts at January 1
Anyways, whenever somebody ever mentions this to me, I ask, "Do you ever think that the Mayans went through one day and started writing this calendar, and by the time they got up to 2012, they just said 'forget it' and stopped?"
Secondly, anyone who makes a calendar from B.C. all the way up to 2012, someone has to think that maybe, just maybe, the dude loving got bored?

Ok, even though I dont believe its the end of the world at all, you guys are being handicapped. It's no just your everyday calendar that "had to end sometime," its based off celestial placements and all that, theres actually a method behind...look it up...

Why can't it "just end sometime"?

It's not a magic voodoo calender.

When 2012 comes, I'm taking my video camera out side and video taping all the idiots I can find that are freaking out. Then later, I shall take the tape and show it to everyone, including the people I video taped, while laughing my ass off.

The Mayans can't predict their own death. The world will not end in 2012.

It is based on lunar cycles. As in when the moon is full or not and etc. It is as Ping said, not some magic voodoo stuff.

Okay, every one understands its not magic voodoo, its purely science...

However, could you be so kind to give me some links to your sources about your lunar cycles idea, because I really don't think you know crap from crab apples about Mayans or their practices and works, and that your just pulling random thoughts from your head.

I didn't exactly attend a "Mayan Civilization 101" but I can tell you its not just based on lunar cycles....It's pretty much based off Earth cycles, but the only way for an ancient civilization to learn about Earth cycles is through cycles of the sun and the moon, and seasons.

And going back to your previous argument that the earth, sun, and the center of the galaxy line up every year, you misunderstood me...When i said coming into line of the center of the galaxy, i meant in line on the galactic equator. If your interested, read more about that here http://www.artideas.com/Why2012/Why2012.html

You won't be alone.

The Mayan calendar is a close relative of the Aztec calendar which both were based on lunar cycles so they could tell when to harvest or not. A great deal of calenders are like this because back then most of the civilizations depended on light to harvest the food which you can get more if you have light all night long (full/harvest moon).

When the combine take over, we all need to request the same city!

See you in City 17!
And we'll all follow Gordan, no matter the cost.

Gordan: I'm not giving some teenager a gun.
[Insert member here]: Everyone else your age is too much of a pusillanimous individual to fight with you
Gordan: Fine.

I really just want 2012 to hurry up and get here so all the stupid stuffs who believe this crap can lose all their credibility.

I shall laugh when the world ends in 2011. (Afterlife of course.)

If someone used to sacrifice humans alive, it may not be a good idea to trust them about the end of the world.
