I don't know why I laughed :3

Probably an 11 volt.
I have never heard of an 11 volt battery.

Also, describing the voltage tells me almost nothing.  When you put two 9 volt batteries together, you get a 18 volt battery, but you won't be able to start a car with it, even though a car battery is only 12 volts.

See what I mean?

EDIT: above, i meant 18, not 15, lol

Double toast.

You want the 5th item down.

You WILL NOT be able to get it to work with your setup.  You need and ignition coil and a capacitor to get the spark.  My dad is an enginerd, he knows this stuff.

Just get the kit, you could extend the wires if you want to, probably up to like 20 feet.

I for some reason got a 9V battery and '11 Volt' mixed up for some reason, even though 11 Volt isn't a thing.

As for your thing; I've asked two people (Tech Ed teacher and physical plant director at a local college, also my mentor) and they both say it should work. However, with what you described, what would I have to add to my set-up to get it to work, without buying a whole kit or set.

I myself don't know the stuff, I would just buy the kit. Its less than $15 for christ's sake

Yeah, I know.

I can get it for $6 at Lowes, and probably spend less than $2 and scavenge for parts for wire and screws and such to build my rig. Whatever.

I don't know what goes into a igniter, but this should explain some

Buy/acquire a stun-gun and use that instead.

The plans are out there on the internet, even MythbBusters made one.

Also for those evil man-bastard Brits out there, Brainiac had a ton of episodes on the potatogun rig they constructed.

Yeah, you can easily make a stun-gun out of a disposable camera. Produces a nice long arc.

Do want directions.

dooo it

Or you can take a grill igniter and it will work the same way, even has a button.

Hurts like a loving bitch.

I once fried a bee like that.
