Author Topic: Computer Not Booting  (Read 1923 times)

After disconnecting everything, waiting for my new hard drive and case, UPS screwed something up, or Xion did, got wrong case.  So, I put in my new drive, plugged in my PC, but, my PC turned on, PSU fan going full blast, but forever, and no video showing, power button won't work. My CD drive access light flashes, but the Windows installer won't boot.  Any ideas?

Complain and send back for the right case?

disconnect all drives (including cd drive) and see if you can get to the BIOS

Maybe some one shocked it?

May I ask what you're using to post this?

I'm thinking either static (Usually with hard disks or RAM if any static gets charged into it, it's fried forever.) or a fault from Xion. Might want to send a complaint or something (Tech Support.)

No.

I don't even understand the situation. You got the wrong case and instead of sending it back used it anyway? Or did you take apart your old PC expecting to get the new case but had to put it back in the old case?

Also, make sure you have everything hooked up properly.

i inserted an EMP chip into it :D

I realize there's an explanation to this, but when I first read the topic I thought:

"Then how are you posting?"

Also make sure your BIOS is set to boot from a CD. As for the video problem, try using the integrated one on the board if you aren't already, you should be seeing something even with a hardware problem. Once you're positive your hardware is fully in check and you're in the BIOS, turn your main boot to CD/DVD and boot up the disk. Once you're on your desktop install the external card and download it's drivers, then reboot again with your monitor hooked up to the external.

Shut up.

Last, gonna try dissconnecting the unneeded stuff.  I'm using my PSP. Nope, not working.  My PSU fan won't shut up, power button won't work.
