How do you make add-ons?

None of you are really helping with the scripting problem. Look at the scripts in the add-ons you've downloaded, or the defaults. If you look at them you could probably learn a few things.

I would suggest googling some tutorials, or if you get someone to tutor you on it because blender is a wide subject. You cannot really just "teach" it to you in one post.

It's a bit confusing but not nearly as bad as people say.

I would try milkshape though a lot of people seem to think it's a lot easier, I haven't messed with it much myself since I bought it so I can't say which one is easier to pick up, but the interface is a lot less complex for sure.

I forgot to say there is a 30 day trial period on Milkshape so you don't have to buy it to see if you like it or not.
