Author Topic: The strangest antivirus ever.  (Read 2973 times)

So, my neighbor calls me that her computer is acting up. So I go over, and I brown townyze it, and this AntiVirus software is faking everything! It even tried to replicate a blue screen of death, saying there was a virus on the computer and you needed to register it and it says it needs to restart the computer. Then it changed to a faulty starting screen for XP, and on the bottom it says that you should register their software. And I start RIGHT WHERE I LEFT OFF. And it blocks a bunch of random sites saying their harmful, it does it every 3 sites, and you can't do shiz about it. There is no 'proceed anyways'. It just says you should register their software. So, she contacted DELL and they said they'd come and remove it.

What a persistent program.

It's obviously a virus itself she probably got owned by that site that says it found 5 viruses on your computer.

What was it called?

Tell your stupid neighbor (aka most likely you as everyone has one of those "friends") that any anti virus software will NEVER just pop up on your screen telling you you have a virus before you even get a scan.

Tell her to stop going to lesbian research sites made with HTML in notepad where the images are just ASCII text. :D

That doesn't even qualify as a special interest...

You could've just booted into safe mode with networking and installed some anti-virus to get rid of it.

I bet it was Antivirus 2009.

its the oldest spyware crap there is, and both you and her believed it.
suckers

Yea, its Antivirus 2009, its really annoying, giving popups and geting you to another page, everytime, not even being able to surf the internet, Even if NORTON antivirus haves false-positives gets rid of antivirus 2009 and any other popups, AND make sure you deleted that antivirus 2009 if you instaled it; Its not antivirus 2009 its virus 2009; also; if u don't got norton or dont wanna buy it; get firefox and never acces internet explorer; firefox don't get these popups and so on. Hope i helped!
