Author Topic: Truce and Blob's Ban  (Read 1896 times)

Well, according to what I heard from them in Blob's server earlier, they both got banned from the forums. First off, Truce was banned because he told Muffinmix that he would tell him the event build for "muting" other players. Now, Truce hadn't actually PMed Muffinmix yet (or vice versa), but Badspot still banned him. Truce said he's fine with the ban, he knows that game creators need to take all the precautions they can and he will serve the two weeks without complaint. However, one of Truce's friends was also banned as well; Blob979. He, being Blob, hasn't done anything wrong, so that is what I am here to appeal.

Two possible scenarios for why Blob was banned:

1) Blob lives not but five to ten minutes away, so his IP was somehow banned along with Truce's. Now, I've never been banned before myself, so I don't know if bans are for the IP or just for the account, but Blob got banned.

2) Truce recently PMed Blob a script that allows super admins to script directly in his server. Badspot might've gone to check if Truce did PM Muffinmix the events yet, and saw that PM, and assumed it was something abusive, thus, banning Blob too.

tl;dr Truce screwed up and someone else gets banned.

I think truce should be unbanned. I like truceeeh.

I don't think it was Badspot's fault, I don't think he's stupid enough to assume a script is abusive before reading it, and he can OBVIOUSLY read Torque script.

He was banned on the assumption of such a script. No script was present. This isn't  unprecendated but it still seems a tad unfair. I do understand that Badspot want to retain some sort of order in the community though and not have server admins being completely abusive, which would put off possible buyers of the game.

I did not receive any PMs either way, and I think he was banned for bragging about it in his post rather then anything else.

This is why a death threat should be taken seriously.

And how close someone was to an IP doesn't matter.

-showing me up-
Ah, I missread the original post. I apologize for that.

It's ok.

Badspot bans a range of ips.
