I want to learn scripting and I'm a 12-year old. Do you think it will be hard or easy or moderate? Please vote on the poll and if anyone has any advice or suggestions please post. If you have anyway to help please do.

Yes, it improves your algebra.

its just when i tried learning java script it just looked so complicated and boring but ill try(im learning javascript cuz its simular to blockland's scripting well someone else said that) also one question if i learn javascript after it where can i learn blockland script?

Javascript is very different from Torquescript. It has about as much to do with Torquescript as with Java.

I don't think age really matters that much in this category, I believe it mostly has to do with your comprehension of logic.

well is there any specific website or watever where i can learn exactly torque script?

I learned 11-12, It doesn't really matter age, but I've tried teaching people and I've never sucessfully taught anything to anyone under 16.

You could probably do it if you worked every day with code and studied other peoples scripts (I dont suggest RTB as your first script to learn from). Besides looking at other's scripts you can study Badspot's reference or something.

Yeah, that stuff's for the pros!

To summarize this up: Look at other scripts

I know a good book that covers all of torque, making stuff, scripting. I have read the preview, like half the book is included. Downside is is that it is $60. But the book is not all that you get. You also get more computer appendices and references plus more info that wasn't in the book. Ill post the link.

then there is another appendix that is on this board, I'll post it here too.

(warning, it's pretty long)

Other than that, you can look at other scripts and post problems here on the boards, I'm still learning, started not to long ago. I wouldn't recommend buying the book unless you are SURE that you want to learn how script. By the way, If you know how to make preferences for RTB and stuff like that, I could use your help.
