Author Topic: Why the first add-on critizism..  (Read 1910 times)

Countless times on my post, I've had OMG NO YOU DONT MENT POST FIRTS ADDON! (Your not meant to post your first add-on.) You CAN post your first add-on. If it fails, its sent to the FAIL BIN, if its not, it stays up. Now stop critizing me on that. That started with you Monty, shame. On. You.

People say that because everyones first add-on normal sucks. Saying its your first add-on is no excuse.

OMG NO YOU DONT MENT POST FIRTS ADDON!

He did not say it like that, stop trying to make it sound like a noob response.

Because 'first add-on' is no excuse for stuff.

We see terribly unneeded or created terribly mods every day. It pisses everyone off because every single idiot downloads it because it's 'cool'.

People don't want crap for add-ons (most anyways). Posting your first add-on which is a simple edit will not impress anyone unless it is something very intuitive.

I'm 50/50 on this arguement; a first add-on (if okay, and if posted) could provide a large amount of important critism for the poster of the add-on. However, the add-on may be largely un-needed, as KINEX said.

The only reason my first addon wasn't flamed to death was because it had a semi-decent script.

You simply have to put more effort in your work, or not release any of your addons until you get a firm grasp on what you're doing.

Make something, don't release it, make something else, release it if its good.

Make something, don't release it, make something else, release it if its good.

This. Only worded more simply than mine.

Don't make your first add-on. start with your 3rd or 4th.

Logic error, might want to change that mate

Logic error, might want to change that mate

I think that may have been intentional.

Anyway...

You CAN post your first add-on. If it fails, its sent to the FAIL BIN, if its not, it stays up.

No, if it's broken, it gets failbinned. If it works but sucks it could stay. Anyway, nobody cares where it appears on your timeline of content creation. You can indeed post your first add-on, but the fact that it's your first does not exempt you from quality standards. If the content itself sucks, it sucks. If it's good, it's good. See the pattern here?

What ever happened the the fail bin?

What ever happened the the fail bin?

It was made invisible to the commonfolk of the forum. I'm guessing this is so Badspot doesn't have to waste his time deleting the links out of the initial post to keep morons from installing something that breaks their game.
