Yndaaa got annoyed this morning because he wanted to rip the models from the k-ON! mod for L4D2 and make Clannad ragdolls for Gmod by editing their faces but his extractor wouldn't work properly.
Such a pity too, I could've used Clannad ragdolls :o

Googled smoothing groups and I found this on deviant art.

Sweet, thanks.
I'll have to use this.

I'm cringing because it's a JPEG tutorial with no AA but that's because I'm a quality whore.
Maybe I'll start up one of the many times I've thought of making a MODURN WEPON PAK HURRRRRRRRRR.

But seriously I've always wanted to make one.

-snip-

Racer taught me about an alternative to this with some kind of modifier, I'll post it later.

So yeah.
Still coloring it.

That looks more like the clip than the handle.

Also, it looks like a very nice model.

Look to the right more, you'll see the trigger, the handle of the gun is usually by the trigger where the trigger guard connects from the handle to the gun

WOW, LOOK AT THOSE SUPER AWESOME TECHNICAL TERMS I USED, WHOOOOOA

Yes!
I got ambient occlusion to work!
But it looks to light.

Try removing the light source alltogether, or put the light at the back of the model and up on the Z axis a bit (or whichever way is up depending on how you're working)
