Well here we are. An hour or so of modelling and I've got this stuffty grip.

Meh, it's not so bad. A lot of that time was getting acquainted with 2.53 and re-acquainted with Blender as a whole. It also showed me that I still remembered how to model :o

Nice shadows and i'm waiting for the rest

I'm figuring out how the forget to texture in blender!

Progress.

I'm trying as much as possible to keep separate parts of the gun separate objects, for example, in this picture there are three: grip, trigger guard, and trigger. It makes it less stressful to model and I think it'll end up looking better in the end as long as there aren't tiny overlap issues (like the grip and the trigger guard. It may look like an issue, but I left a bit of an overlap on purpose, but if it ends up looking like that everywhere it'll be bad news).

seperate objects? sounds like a good way to do

I forget who it was, but one of those badass modelers out there (probably Trader or something like that) did something inspired by the first gun I did where he made a gun on PMG, saved that picture, then separated all the parts, copied it as a reference image into Blender, modeled each of the parts individually and then combined them according to the first picture. If I had remembered that when I started this one I would've done the same, it seems like a much easier process that would yield better results at the end.

From what I remember Trader doesn't model, he scripts. Kaje does all the modeling and them trader scripts. Like for JVS.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Found it. It was Racer.

Ah. Ok.

I do not remember it but I'm sure he could have done it.

He is a good modeler. He made a very, very nice racing type car some pages back.
