Formerly, the old nation of Obitus had a cycle of sacrifice, in order to pleasure their gods.
They'd offer their first-born child-teen, to a sacrifice. A very big sword was used in the ritual by the Punisher. The offer was usually cut in vertical. Which means, more pain = more pleasure to gods.
During the maritime expansion, english people visited Obitus, in the land of the actual Mexiland, with the powers invested into church, they were able to create a curse, to EVERY, Punisher, the curse was inside the potato sack, that they used to hide their faces in.(another tradition of this sick nation).
They've locked a curse inside the sack, making it so, whoever uses it, their faces would rot, and they'd burn in the fire of hell.
btw that's a cool story for it.
