If you're cool you might recognize it.
I totally love the texturing. Are you using Blender? I'd love to take a look at the blend.

That's practically its sister game.

The game is called "Yume Nikki". It's got a huge cult following, and I severely recommend it if you like anything horror-ish or Japanese AT ALL. If anything it's at least intriguing.

I agree, it's a lot too boxy. You can still make box-ey models without literally making them out of boxes.
