after I put my dns,ip,subnet, and default gateway in, i go offline...
i have a westell versalink 327W and a vista computer.
i tried portforward.com and blocklands guide, everyone tells me to go there when entering the ports for blockland aint my problem
can i get some real help this time?

I forgot to add that i have 2 ip things

You are to do ipv4.
But if you lose connection after setting up a static IP, well that just means you did it wrong.

...explain this "static ip" to me please, i just enter the numbers from the cmd prompt after typing ipconfig and i use the ipv4

Don't just enter the numbers.
Tell me your default gateway, and your DNS and I'll tell you what to put in there.

k but i have another computer thats only for cyber schooling, so ill just give you both of the dns
Ipv4: 192.168.1.46

Dns(s)
Main computer : 192.168.1.46

Hurr. That isn't your DNS probably.

Your DNS is found in your router page.

....i went to my dns page

Hurr. That isn't your DNS probably.

Your DNS is found in your router page.
And it ISN'T your IP address.

....ill keep searching...it scares me how you just relpied fastly

You don't need static IP to host a server...

Well on my computer, i go to advanced, lan, then i go to dns and i have those numbers and this number like 5 times 192.168.1.1  saying thats my ip adress
