I was thinking about getting Blender, but I worry that it would be frightfully complex to someone who never has done anything like it. is it easy to use? Is it compatable with Blockland?

I would recommend starting out with Wings 3d to get the idea of how modeling works. It's actually pretty robust and fun to use.
