Author Topic: Master server change?  (Read 3420 times)

The only problem I see with this is people begging to join private servers, before you could leave your name out, but now I suspect people will be IRCing anyone with a private server to join their private server.

Edit: Just realized I had a typo.

Maybe there can be an option to hide the name when hosting a passworded server.
But, I think to get rid of stuff like Dropshocks Dropshocks freebuild, if the hosts name is already in it, it shouldnt put the name if front of it.

I don't like this. Mainly because my server name is always ending up with "-Tails-'s" at the beginning, and it takes away the freedom of being private.

It already filters out instances of the host's name - the only servers left that have duplicate names in the title are people who have spelled their name wrong.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but IRC requires RTB and RTB reveals who is hosting the server anyway.

RTB reveals who is hosting the server anyway.
You can disable this, I'm pretty sure

I opened a second blockland to show this. My server was opened with the username Blastdown.

Well yes and no. There is an option that allows you to not be revealed.

You can turn it off in RTB options:

Seeing who owns private servers might not be that big of a problem anyway, I guess we'll see.

What are you trying to show here?

Edit: Oh, I forgot to say, I do like this, though we'll have to get used to naming our servers a bit differently for clans and such, I think the gain outwieghs the price.

The reason it's on is because of this friendry: http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=62146.0

It's not very difficult to get used to.

Hmm, that is a bug.

If that is your server that you highlighted, why isn't it dead? (connections fail when trying to connect to your own external IP address)

What? I can connect to my own dedis perfectly fine...

Really?  I always have to connect with my interal IP address, and my servers always look dead for me when looking at the internet games.

My dad forced me to go to his house so I don't get to take part in this >:(

Badspot, you could just make it so if Badspot is in a name it doesn't allow the server to be made.
