Author Topic: Should I release my new copy mod yet? [Go to the last page for details.]  (Read 5117 times)

ok game... heres how it is

the bots look like their always moving so you cant decoy that way D:

i cant make any unless i use my own name D:

i need to be able to folow them for it to be a decoy or have one run around randomley and another follow

and finnaly i think everyone will like the new bot mod you are making if you can use numpad hotkeys or something

THX

What do you mean by always moving? Use /botstop [invisible name]

You don't have to type /copy [yourname] in fact I highly reccomend you don't the bot auto matically has your name regardless of the name you put for the invisible name.

The abillity for the bots to walk around randomly will be added in the full version.

When I try to kill or get a bot to stop moving it simply creates a new one.

When I try to kill or get a bot to stop moving it simply creates a new one.

Make sure when you made the bot you typed /copy [NAME]

Also, make sure when you typed those commands you did it correctly. Example: To kill, type /copykill [NAME] to stop the bot from moving type /copystop [NAME]

Also, I've been thinking for awhile, does anyone want it to be so everyone on the server can use it? Not just the admins, and if so how many bots should everyone be able to make?

Also just one last issue, at the rate this is going I will never finish, I am now accepting anyone who wants to help make the script.

To help in this project you must:

Have a decent understanding of Torque script.

Have an ability to work briskly and efficiently.

And be able to be decent and orderly in your manner.

Currently I need help making the gui and a few other functions.

All helpers will be given credit in the full release and every update.

Bump because I said so.

1. Maybe you could make hotkeys for stopping and starting, and all that.

2. Also, you should be able to copy other people, and other players can't tell them apart :D

1. If we click there name somehow we will see a message, get a variable, or something like that
2. make it so we can put them on teams with the future TDM ?

I swear I keep thinking that if I make these bots too advanced this will happen:

Quote
Gamefandan: /copychase bot1 Lt.Vic

Gamefandan[The copy]: I'm sorry Game, but I can't let you do that...

When you say [NAME] , do you mean [Bob] or just Bob? Because I make a bot with the name Bob:

You have made an ugly ass bot with your name.

I say /copykill bob

You have made an ugly ass bot with your name.

No it's without the [ ] and also if you named it Bob you have to say /copykill Bob not /copykill bob

pretty cool, in the full version you should make it that so it copies your player type too, i wanna have my little womprat following me around :3
And it won't be just for that

Lol you should make that happen just to freak people out ;D

:o

never though of that...

I guess that would be....

Datablock = %client.datablock

Yeah that might work...

And it won't be just for that

just have it walk over an evented brick that does on bot touch, change data block to womprat.

That also works....

Maybe I'll add:

/copytype

~Changes the player type of the selected bot to your current player type~
