1st person or 3rd person?

What view is best for shooting? What's best for driving or flying? What's best for driving or flying and shooting at the same time?

I've tried to experiment, and I can't tell which is worst.

First is obviously best for shooting, for it shows the crosshair.
I prefer third when I'm driving or flying, but that is just me.

I personally use 1st person for building, fighting, and precise flying. Then 3rd for most vehicles and walking/leisure.

I do almost everything in first person.  Including driving.

Except when I'm hiding and I need third person to look around the corner without being visible :3

I use 1st person for flying, fighting (normally in f5), building (shooting a ghost, spraying, printing, wrench, destroying, etc), and activating. I use 3rd person for just wandering, using free look, driving land vehicles, when shifting and planting bricks, and as jirue said, looking around the corner without being visible :3.

For those who say first is better for shooting because it shows the crosshair. I'm going to say that is false.
The reason first person is better for shooting is because the view is not tilted. Some people play with the crosshair turned off.

I'd find it hard to shoot without a crosshair, hadn't occured to me that people play without it.

I guess it requires a bit of good judgment to know where the center of the screen is, considering that's where first person camera is.
(Camera is inside the player)
However, since third person view is a bit above the player...

I'm getting pretty awesome with shooting without a cross hair and in 3rd person.

I only use 1st person when gun playing and when using a sniper rifle so I can zoom in and snipe from far away. It's awesome and fun to be a sniper. The joy of getting to kill people, and not know where it's from or who.

Other thing's I do in 3rd person, but it sometimes help to use 1st when building for when I want to shoot ghost bricks. but I notice how my flying and shooting is about the same when in 1st and flying a vehicle, so I"m having a hard time deciding. I really like 3rd person because I can see everything better in some spots and I can see how awesome my character looks when using a tool or weapon or when driving a cool vehicle.

I might try shooting in 3rd person for awhile, and if I suck, I'll go back to 1st person. I've kinda gotten use to 1st person view when fighting.

I use firstperson for deathmatches where i get to use guns or rocket launchers, sometimes while using the rocket launcher, i use thirdperson to see what's going on around me, i also use firstperson for moving around, building and other stuff, the only time i DO use thirdperson is when i'm flying or driving
