Author Topic: Limpfittz Building Strategy  (Read 11511 times)

I disagree, I honestly think Limpfitz is in the Holy Grail of talent. Sittin' in there with Badspot, and Space Guy, and probably Kaje :D

My point was that other people build differently, and there shouldn't be a dispute on a strategy guide.

you got that right... still i think that the whole "holy grail of talent" thing is true, i mean, i've seen some of spaceguy's builds, and they're like WOAH, your example is pretty good, but too basic for my liking, but who's to say, my taste is dull and grey, PS, i may take a few screens of my prision build and add it to the gallery; but it's pretty basic. srry for the run on sentence. <A cookie for you:  :cookie:>

This guide is sure to help me build better, thanks Limpfittz =D

Holy stuff that tiny little build and you pack a stuffload of detail into it nice job.
I could learn a lot from you.

This is terrible.
1. the template is the key to building fast, no mather what you say. And it takes 5 minutes to set one up.
2. No, if you want your build to increase in detail level, you have to spend time on it, makes sure that everything fits, and that the details look okey. To just rush through the build is plain stupid. I didn't mention that you should work hours and hours on the same part of the build, I just mentioned that the whole build COULD take days, even weeks to complete.  You are right about the perspective thing tho, but I don't know why you even brought that up. :P
You don't seem to understand.
It takes you (as you have said above) 5 minutes to set up a build loadout. I can get a brick loaded in a few seconds.
Beyond that, its a different method. You skip the details and then you come back after getting the basic layout done and doing most of the grunt work and then do the detail work. It is not rushing through the build, it is doing it in a layer by layer form.

You lay down the first layer that has basically no detail but is the structure of the build. Then you go back and lay down the detail rather than doing the structure and the detail at the same time. This way you can have a better idea of what the build will end up like and try ideas quicker.

The perspective thing is useful for people who are building DMs and Challenges and such, where the player is limited to a certain area. But other than that I did just bring it up for no reason as it was very late at night and I was bored.

I'd also like to add, don't be afraid to use the duplicator. You'll likely be making allot of symmetrical builds and when it gets big you can be excused for taking a shortcut instead of slavering over building the same 100 brick wall 4 times.

As for the color scheme, pick your colors wisely. If your colors clash it will detriment your entire build, so try switching your colors around until everything looks right. The fillcan can help you there.

Finally, build whatever inspires you and try to find a style that suits you.

It's nice that people add their strategy as well =)

FAAAAN!!! Sluta vara så jäkla duktig på att bygga!!!

du är bäst mannen!

men du kan inte gö toast när du är full xD :cookieMonster:

Bump for the usefulness of this guide. Maybe a sticky it could help a lot of new members to get started at building, or like me not as new members to get better at building.

This is pretty helpful to new players. Actually, I really could have used this when I was a newby.

Normally, I just go by this:

1. Inspiration
2. Design
3. Plan
4. Structure
5. Review
6. Refine

Typically I'll go

1. Inspiration
2. Plan
3. Basics
4. Details
5. Realize I only did half the build so far and quit

Nice tutorial! I have one comment to make though:

1. Think outside it, a house for example has many corners and twists, they're never boxes!
