Author Topic: Vista Hosting Problems.  (Read 491 times)

A while ago, I had to reset all my router settings. I forwarded the ports required for Blockland, and the hosting was fine on my old XP computer. Recently, my hosting computer has become so slow that it can not handle hosting a Blockland dedicated server. I have another computer, a laptop running Vista, but it refuses to let me host and all my servers are dead. Windows firewall is off, and Norton has been deleted from my computer (but it still shows up as the firewall being on) but I cannot create a successful online server.

I use Windows Live One Care (  http://www.amazon.com/Windows-Live-OneCare-2-0-Users/dp/B000V6YPAY/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1237040628&sr=8-1  )                                                                             This means that if you use Norton and Windows Firewall, your blocking Blockland from getting to the internet.

So either get Live one care, Turn off Every Firewall and let all programs to ports or go to your router and find DMZ mode. it turns all internet Traffic to one computer, i dont think you should but its up to you.

Setting your machine as a DMZ is a security risk, do not do it.  Forward your ports properly.

but I cannot create a successful online server.

The fact that you cannot host a server is evidence that you have not port forwarded correctly.

well when i dont prot forward correctly blockland would go offline but only my servers do, not the whole game

ports 2800 - 2830 right?
No modify button? :O

My ports are forwarded right because my old computer can host
