Don't buy it from Best Buy.

Really, don't. You'll be wasting money.

Its really cheap and runs like everything.
...his dad is letting him choose whatever parts he wants, why would he get that?

Don't take it to heart, I earned all the money for my computer as have millions of others. Some get a free ride, but in the end it is moot. We all gradually transition into greedy consumers who think the world owes us something for throwing a bit of cash around.

The same kind of people that curse at the government for taxing them and watching them, but use public services everyday and expect to be protected from all the evils in the world.
Just like the Puerto Ricans. Demand all rights of US citizenship yet richard around about actually joining the country because why buy the cow when they're getting the milk for free. I'd go on more, but then I'd be getting too political and we all know how that ends up on forums. :/

Updated list.

BTW: my dad owns 2 companies California Telecommunications and Gurol Consulting. He also does work for Cisco and Sony. So he's kinda helping me.

Nothing i do is free. I must save up money for anything i want. and i mean ANYTHING.
It is also hard to do that with no allowance :P

It doesn't have to be that big.

I have a single 250GB hard drive and I can barely fill it up. I put on a lot of games and such, and I still have 180GB of free space.
I have a terabyte with over 400 gigs filled up  :cookieMonster:

He said his dad works for Cisco in a contract sort of manner...not as a full-time employee.

Newegg has that gtx 260 for 200 bucks and like 150 after mail in rebate. I just bought one. Hasn't come yet because newegg is slow, but w/e.

That processor is stuffty. Why is it so expensive? Get something like this one. It's freakin on tenth the price...

You might need a bigger hard drive, that all depends on if you keep any games in iso format.

"stuffty" is hardly the term I'd use to describe the Core i7 965 processor, but the term does fit well with the processor you suggested. It's $1000 because it is the most powerful consumer-grade CPU available.
