Author Topic: M for MATURE.  (Read 8411 times)

It really pisses me off how some parents buy their kids extremely gory and violent games, and yet they blame the game company for making them. You're the dumbasses who bought a 10 year old kid an M rated game. They forget up the minds of children, and the parents go out and bitch at the company for making the games so violent. M means Mature, not Screaming bitching kids. If you're going to buy a kid under 12 a game, atleast get them some racing game. Not loving Postal 2 or GTA IV. Next thing you know your kids will be running around loving dogs and picking up hookers, and who are their parents going to blame? That's right, the game company.

"it's apparently the white character's job to destroy the black people and save humanity. This is problematic on so many levels, including the depiction of black people as inhuman savages, the killing of black people by a white man in military clothing, and the fact that this video game is marketed to children and young adults. Start them young...fearing, hating, and destroying black people."

Exactly. I'm 13, and I got my first M rated game this year (Well actually 6 days before the year, 9 days before my b-day), and it was Halo 3. the next day after i got it, I got Call of Duty(hehe) World at War
loving dogs
What the hell? What game does that?

What seems to be the common parent in the US today is extremely childish.  They usually know that it's their fault, but hell, why admit it when you can blame it on something else?

That's why RE5 is so fun!

P.S. These topics are meaningless. We all know what is going on and discussing it here won't change anyone's mind or solve the problem.

I've been playing M rated games when I was like 6 or 7. It has not made me any more violent, I just am able to be "k violence idc".

The only thing that I could think of that has changed in me is my crude humor. But then I look at my brothers and dad and see that it just runs in the family :D.

Crude humor makes the world go round :3

This is the history of Halo.

This is the history of Halo GTA.
In this situation, they don't even compare.

Same. That or I just watched my dad play.

I've never been restricted my parents let me watch/play anything I wanted, because my Parents said that, "We know you're smart enough to defer a game from Reality." Parents keep their kids away from that in order to make them "Perfect."
