Author Topic: People don't seem to build much anymore.  (Read 3694 times)

One problem about that is so many people can't build, or they build worse then the main builder, but not too bad that their build doesn't warrant being destroyed, lowering the quality of the build, so you might as well build in a passed server where people don't annoy you while your building, and other builders that you didn't invite don't lower the overall quality of the build.

When I host, I typically make it a freebuild while loading my current project. My only issue is keeping the motivation to build

Host stable dedicated servers that you WON'T take down in the same day you start hosting. It's no fun starting something big and coming back the next day to a "Sorry, server crashed, start over" message, and I usually completely avoid freebuilds I know will not be up for more then 2 hours, which happens to be 98% of them.

No one builds anything big because no one loving can.

That's why you save...

I typically only build DMs but I make an occasional build. I built a lot more at one time but I seem to build less these days. I mostly just script and playtest my DMs.

when i host. i disable events, vehicles, items and weapons

the stuff company gets bored instantly and leaves

That's why you save...

Yeah, then get whoever's the next host to admin you so you can load it just to continue building it on their server, rinse and repeat until the build is done or you get loving tired of it like me.

Might as well go single player and completely forget about multiplayer if you're wanting to build something good, either that or if you're lucky and your ISP doesn't suck you can host your own game to build whatever it is you're working on, but then you have extra fun cleaning up after the occasional idiot and you lose focus on whatever ideas you had.

If I could've gotten my modem to cooperate, I would have done just this.

Well, with such a negative viewpoint, you're always going to find a problem.

I only build on my own server. I disable add-ons, work for however long I please, delete spam with clear bricks, and save.

It's not that bad. I usually let most people load a project that they're working on while I host. No point in boring everyone to death by making them watch me build things.

They have the option to leave.

And they don't because I give them something to do.

Well, I don't. Haha.

But 10 year olds don't have the attention span to build something nice.
Only1rebel in a sentence right there.

I go around making my mark in servers.

Well, I don't. Haha.
Me neither ;D

I usually just scare them off.
