I'm also sick of people saying Runescape is a bad game. I'll give you the fact that the combat is boring and the community is handicapped, but the monthly fee it has is only a third of what you'll pay for World of Warcraft. The game also makes sense, which is what a lot of MMORPG's don't nowadays. Some will just spawn you and put in unrelated and hard to understand tutorials. In Last Chaos, for instance, you get a free mount, but it's confusing as hell because after a bit of research, you find out that you have to feed your horse/dragon with rocks, and heal them with some herbs or some stuff.

The only thing that's really fake is magic. Using stones to do magic stuff such as turn stuff into gold, attack people, turn things into bananas and peaches, and attacking people some more...

When I played Runscape about 7 years ago, it was a good game. I remember the quest "The Grand Tree" and loving the storyline, how the gnome was killing the tree so he would have enough timber to craft boats to invade the human citadel? That was ace.

Now it's total stuff.
