think of it this way limpfittz: if every clan was acceptable, there'd be hundreds of active clans which is simply impossible without in-game support for them.

if everyone was a master-builder, a masterful build would be average - and that would just suck. you've just got to find the good things about bad builds, like people will find slightly off things in good builds.

the template is probably helpful though.

I don't want everyone to be a maaster builder - I only want to help those who want help. The ones who don't want it, are not forced in to reading my topic :)

But it's convoluted you think you can teach people to have talent.

That is more or less correct. Fascinatingly, good hosting almost directly relates to how well we do as a clan. If I never got a good hoster, we never would've taken off and I wouldn't be fronting WBS as a success story, but it did, so I am.

Art tutorials are kind of the same as what Limp did. While I, with the proper technical skills and a little practice, could copy a famous painting, that does not make me a good painter. I'd probably pick stuff up along the way that might improve me as a painter, but I do not become a good painter by copying someone else's style and work.

So, I guess the building point isn't as strong. While I think that building tutorials are good, it shouldn't have been conducted as it was. It should have been just tips for helping you develop your own style, how to branch out, and how to mentally collect your ideas. Brick placement is just part of the fight.

Twelve members, and within the clan section it's 10th in both replies and views. We've had two successful clan builds that have spanned weekends.

10th in views and replies in the Clan Section isn't one-sided or opinionated. If no one cared and the clan sucks, it would sink to the depths.

You've only been to our server once, and who are you to say how many times we've  had servers up?

Go through the WBS topic and tell me the bump to actual post ratio. I'd do it myself, but I want you to see how you're wrong.
