Author Topic: DO YOU WANT TO MAKE YOUR OWN CLAN? READ THIS:  (Read 5610 times)

I've been to your servers when you weren't on, funny what they think of you.

I'm not wrong on this one, 90% is your work juxtaposed as clan builds.

Why do you even try getting in to argument with Ronin, Sirrus?

Good god what the hell are you arguing about

It's advice. Take it or leave it. Don't complain about how your clan is beyond this advice. Either listen to Limp or hit the "back" button.

Sirrus: what the hell get over it

I need food, very much. Anyway, just end this argument. Limp, continue teaching people your way of building, and Sirrus, you continue teaching your way of building. To say that JUST Sirrus's way to build, or JUST Limp's way to build is the right way, is like saying rock is the only type of music.

FPS games, you have to achieve a certain rank/level to make a clan. I can see why. All these idiots are like "KEWL IMA MAKE MY OWN CLAN IT GUN BE AWESOME" and they just fail so much, if i were to explain, it would rip the frabric of time appart. They need to learn that just because it sounds "good" at the time, in reality, no one is going to join and you will make yourself look like the biggest idiot in the loving world.

... What?

... What?
Yeah, even I thought it was confusing.

Basically, saying that Limpfitz's style is the ONLY style, is like saying rock is the only type of music.

When you build, do you really build a box and then go through successive steps in making it better?

I'm sorry but I REALLY don't like how you only use sample topics that use your exact format. Your format isn't the only way to do things...
Note: I still like you and think you have lovey hair... but this just kinda pulls some sorta nerve for me.. I dunno exactly why...

I do this for my terrain and it seems to work pretty well

Terraining is different. You can work with very large bricks, down to a smaller brick, smaller and smaller, until you're doing details and it looks nice.

I build everything basically from the ground up.

The only exception might be my most recent build where, on one part, I made a very vanilla section and deleted wall segments and added new things in where it was needed. A bit easier to make it mesh with the build if it was done like that.

I think someone made the brown townogy of building in blockland with art in this thread, and I thought about it for a few minutes.

If you were to compare this clan-advice thread to an artistic guide book, the same rules would apply: find your own style and take your time developing your stuff until it's ready to be displayed.

This should also mean that people (and clans, to a generalised extent) should all have individual building styles that should be 'found' rather than taught.

Still using the brown townogy it'd be: give someone a brush and see how they paint. If they paint with heavy brushstrokes it should be fine, if they paint with light thin brushstrokes it should also be fine. If they are just making a mess, you give them some pointers (<THATS WHAT THE LIMPFITTZ THREADS ARE).

Now I really hope that it was this thread. :cookieMonster:

We've already talked about this, if you don't like my guidelines - then GTFO. Because I don't care if you don't like it. As long as I can help a few members, I'm happy.
