No matter how much you try to save the earth, it is still going to be ingulfed by that burning mass off fire we call the sun. Hell, we might even kill eachother before that happens with nukes. If enough people don't care maybe the governent will actually focus on something important like colonizing a planet that will outlive this one so we can continue the human race. But the government doesn't care about what will happen in the future.
