What face does ":D" replicate?

"Big smile, teeth visible"
"Big smile, mouth open"
It can be both options 1 and 2.

Author Topic: The ":D" Debate  (Read 2652 times)

Well, ":D" can mean 2 different things, as far as I'm aware.

1. Your mouth is in a big smile, and your teeth can be seen. Like a cheesy grin.
2. Your mouth is open, and you are very happy. Almost like you're laughing.

So, really, all I want to know is: How do you interpret it?

(I myself choose #2.)

No one voted 1. Lol.

The second one.

Edit:
Second one.
Whoops, didn't see that

What.

The smiley ":D" looks like a guy with his mouth open, like he's laughing, right?
Well, some chats (Like Facebook) portray it as a guy who's giving you a big grin, in which you can see all of his teeth.

No one cares. The real question is how do you put smileys in parenthesis.

(Hi : )) ?
(Hi : ) ?

IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!

You're not suposed to put a space between the 'Eye's' and 'Mouth'.

( This is how :[} )
