Author Topic: Damn, How Can They Do This?  (Read 5082 times)

How can people get away with making web pages like this? An average person could be so easily tricked by this. If it were up to me, trap links like that would be illegal.
Hey I got this too, but it was at school I was on a mac and it said windows had like 40+ viruses was quite funny

I find the email ones more of a nuisance.

I got some warning from a bank, that I didn't have an account with, that my account was going to be closed in 2 days. I got that email everyday for a month.

AVG to the rescue! It seems to have detected the virus and removed it. MY computer is running much smoother now.

Sorry for giving you that virus James.

I hate it when you get trap links :c I have this thing called snappy ads on my computer, it won't go away either, i always leave my computer on at nigh so when i wake up i usually have about 15 spam pop ups  :panda:
I had something similar on my old computer, it was called Adrevolver. The damn thing would throw ads up on every third page I viewed, and kept warning me that my subscription to some obviously fake security program had expired. It even bothered me on these forums. Worse, when I managed to find it's source and delete what I could with Spybot, and what Spybot couldn't manually, it switched to bad computer mode and installed something called yuri28 or what ever it was called, that was bothering the hell out of me with... something (all I remember is tons of windows with blinking text and exclamation points), and put a shortcut called "QUALITY research" on my desktop, which would come back every time I deleted it. Spybot couldn't do stuff, and when I started in safe mode, my computer would turn off before I could do anything. I don't even remember how I got rid of it, I had to do something my brother showed me.

Sorry for giving you that virus James.

I loving hate those "SpyWare remover o9'" and stuff like that. I used to get this spyware remover 360 or something. It's loving gay.

There's still an old assed one going around through E-mails.

I opened up an E-mail that said "Free VIRUS REMOVER 1998" on my stuffty laptop (that I hate), and sure enough, it was a virus with that exact name.
