Author Topic: Manga attempt  (Read 9839 times)

I've been taking online tutorials on both anime and anatomy, after several attempts, I've gotten to the point when it was decent(I'm a begginer). Tell me what you think about it:

I don't understand why people try so hard to draw this stuff. It's not the least bit impressive.

At least not for you. It also depends on your taste on a variety of art.

The cheek looks bulimic.
Other than that I like, the face not the body.

I'm pretty much having too much trouble drawing the cheek, I try to make it to the point where it doesn't have a catastrophic eating disorder, but I fail to do so. Anyway, thanks for your constructive criticism and your opinion about it.

I kinda like the Manga style, but I prefer realism a lot more.

I advise you to stop drawing Anime. There's hundreds of thousands of 'super awesome' Anime artists in every school, and it's so stock saying something is even remotely 'good' is like saying this pretzel was better than the last one.

But isn't it like saying, "Several people tried out swimming, so I'm not going to attempt it anymore". I'm also using different styles, such as drawing weapons and making cartoons(other than anime), but I'm not that impressive in drawing them.

It's not as different as you think.
Artists need to develop their own styles.

I have to agree with you on that, most artists however, learn from a tutor first before they can develop their own style.

Epic quote.

I tried this only looking up at your drawing a few time, and drew something comparable in about five minutes or less in several poses.

Manga and anime style isn't that hard.

Precisely.
It's the eyes. That's the only hard part.

Then either you're better at drawing at that drawing style than me, or you have great eye coordination. The eyes are easier for me in my opinion, it's just the nose and the mouth that I'm having trouble with.

Just because you can simply do it within five minutes, you can't assume everyone can do it also.
