Author Topic: Manga attempt  (Read 10514 times)

As far as my weaboonese brain knows, drawing a figure isn't a whole manga. A Manga is a comic and not just a plain simple drawed head.

It looks like you attempted to figure draw on the body, but didn't know what you're doing. Head is nice, though.

Some helpful links. Google and Youtube also really help ;D

Thanks. In fact I'm doing better at anatomy right now.
Anime/Manga is too... whats the word.. similar?
Everything looks the same to me.
But, for anime/manga.. this is good.
Strange, I thought that this was below the "Ok meter". But thanks for your opinion.

Anime/Manga isn't a style?

As do I.  Anime is far too simple, if you're going to try a certain style, realism, or DC/Marvel is something to attempt.
Personally I hate the style.
Hating the drawing because of the style? I know it's your opinion, but, whether it's simple or not, don't bother to come this thread if you're going to give me some useless advice. I tried it myself because it was simple, if I do master this, then I'll slowly progress to the point when I go attempt another style, or make my own.

we have tons of punk-ass skaters who also draw anime. 2-in-1 douche bag if you ask me
damn straight

who gives a stuff about 'dem triangle heads.
NOTHING IS SPEACIAL ABOUT ANIME, you are wasting you life fapping over anima chicks. Them japaneses are screwed up
In summary, to all anima artists... YOU FAIL
Pickle out

You have some serious problems, picklicious.

Another cookie cutter art form.
Oh the hundreds of sketchbooks I have seen.
Yikes, is that a girl or a guy?
forget, no thank you.

turns out you forgeted both up

I thank all of you for your suggestion. I like how you tell me how to "improve" it by saying that they fail, and they're saying forgeted up. Obviously not, as orange wolf said, any form of drawing style should not be able to please others at all. If you see a thread named "Manga attempt", anyone should have common sense NOT to post if they hate the style. Otherwise, it would be considered a huge amount of ignorance. Now FrAgGEr, I already know that doesn't apply to you, yet you give me no advice other than "it's forgeted up". I'm directing it at Ronin and picklicious. I congradulate Ronin for describing how "awful" it is, but for picklicious, well, I'm dissapointed that he wasn't smart as the others.

I would say try learning realism first, not manga.

Besides, some people use realism to help with their probelm with anatomy.

Ahem:

The problem with that is when you go on to a new style your perception will be all screwed up.

Manga/Anime is nothing like a real human. Start drawing real people, or else!!!!!!

You do have a point. How about I combine both? Several people use both realism and manga combined to help with anatomy. Would that be good enough?

i guess.

Art is perspective and creativity. Anime isn't creativity, as Ronin said, it's cookie-cutter. Take, for example, these 'artists':
http://www.amazingsuperpowers.com/
Water color painting with his own way of drawing anatomy. They have 3 fingers but they're still good.
http://xkcd.com/
Simple, with minor details, but extremely clever dialogue. Best comic out there.

Okay, this one is just to show you how everyone develops their own style.
Now go look at Mike Matei's work for the AVGN, or whoever does ThatGuy's stuff.

If anime isn't creativity then a cartoon isn't? It's both yours and Ronin's opinion. I may go into a different style.

"It's to easy, simplistic, let me bitch about how its not creativity"
