Take regular drawing courses and practice drawing real objects before you focus on fantasy and stylized forms.

I didn't want to threadstuff, but anime really isn't my thing.

From a conversation earlier in the topic. I think that the hands are definately the hardest to draw. I had to give up drawing manga though, I can't draw with a lack of detail, I have to make it over-detailed and it ends up making it suck....I'm so OCD! XD

I have a similar problem in that regard. I suck at detail, however it's facial features and extremities I fail hard at and pend 80% of my time trying to get it right only to have it scanned and hardly be visible when reduced. Talk about beating a dead horse sometimes. Case in point...

And as much as I practice, I can't seem to get it right. It's frustrating. So I just try and avoid drawing them or hide the fingers..
