Author Topic: Away at War 2 Movie.(Preview)Need Modelers!  (Read 6461 times)

Well, we're back, with another movie. We actually started this in december and had about 15min of footage but then just stopped, because i was studying blender and was really interested in it. Now that i learned how to make add ons from it and learned some animation, the movie will be better than ever.
The poster above was rendered from blender(except the credits and site at top).

It is about aliens invading, at first they don't know what it is, they think its another war invite from another country because they were just at war not so long ago. But then they realize that everybody is getting attacked and they try to send out ships to see whats going on.
But the aliens aren't docking outside the earth, but in it.

You might be thinking "hey thats war of the worlds!" well no, its a completely different plot. You'll see.. YOU'LL ALL SEE
Anyways here's the preview:

Pic for the hell of it:

oh and if you're wondering what happened there in the preview, is the main character who's only 5 sneaks into one of those ships somehow to go with his dad, then he runs to his dad but gets blocked by a soldier, and a flash grenade bounces infront of them.
Full movie will have narration

UPDATE:

The progress of this movie is going slow, thats mostly because we don't have enough models for me to animate into the game. I also have alot of other stuff to do and I can't model EVERYTHING for this movie, so I need help.

Anything sci fi you can think of, that could be used in the background. Like sci fi ships, robots, anything. I will then animate it and credit you in the movie.
This will make progress so much faster

Wtf that was awesome :o

Damn, amazing.

Where did you get all the actors, as well as make the vehicles?

there were only 5 actors, the rest i animated in blender and then added in mission editor to loop and play that animation.

Pretty much everything you saw moving there, thats what i did. Except the 5

Uploading this to YouTube right now.

I didn't watch the first one because I thought it would be stuff the hole time, seeing the preview for the second one my prediction for the first one would of been way off, it would be more stuff then just plain stuff.

The hole "Done in Blender" thing really showed, vehicles stopping mid air, then randomly turn and fly off, really destroys the feel of Blockland. Importing animation are fine, as long as they match what Blockland could do.

Well in real movies they make stuff that can't be done so what If it can't be done in blockland.

Exactly.

Before you said that you did it in blender, I was like:

"..."

-Video goes on-

"How the shi-"

Yeah, holy stuff this is awesome.

yea and i also had to loop it somehow, i did some of them where they fly to a direction and then teleport back but i couldn't do that to all of them, because people would notice that, and it would be hard to avoid not filming them teleporting.

I think you overused blender animations a tad bit, but it looks nice :D

That was fun acting in. :D

Those mechs are cool

Hey, got one spot open for someone else to join in? I'd love to be a part of it.
