Hey, I was wondering, are you able to make add-ons and maps with google sketch-Up? Please answer! If so, I have tons of cool things I want to make into add one and maps.

No. You can make models with it, but you need to convert them.

What do you mean by convert?

Making them as .dts files.

If you mean all i have to do to make it a add on or map is to make it a .Dts file and make a script for it? If so YES THANK GOD!

You can't make maps. Only models. And these models can be used for playertypes, vehicles, and weapons. That's really it.

Why not maps? I have a sweet zone i made. why is it that i cant make maps? If there is absolutely no way i can make maps. Can you suggest a Application or somehting for the mac that i can make maps?

So can you tell me how to make it a .dts file?

Google.

Maps are made ingame, and interiors are made by different programs.

Why not maps?
Because maps require playerspawns, the correct torque formatting, skyboxes, and lighting.

you can make the preliminary model in SketchUp, export it to .obj (best to download the demo of SketchUp Pro, or if you are a rich snob, buy it), open it in Blender and fix everything, since MilkShape is iffy with sketchUp models if you don't know what you're doing.

Then, export it with Blender, (I can't explain how to install the dts exporter, since it's a pain) and open it in Torque Constructor (which is free). Save it as a .map, and then choose Export> .dif.

If all works, place the .dif in mission editor, and voila! Map!

...sadly, my saving in Constructor is broken :\

OMG I'm helping people >_>

Export as Google earth 4 file, change to zip, grab COLLADA file in it, import, export. Doesn't need pro version.

How big do I need to make a vehicle/weapon in inches/centimeters/millimeters?

How big would I make a fighter aircraft in inches?
