Author Topic: Windows 7: Where are downloaded add-ons stored?  (Read 2467 times)

I want to clean out some of my add-ons I've downloaded from another server. However, when I go to the Add-Ons folder of Blockland, it only has the default add-ons, and the ones that I've installed. So where would these downloaded add-ons be put into? This also applies to screenshots and saves, whenever I take a screenshot or save something, it's not in /saves and /screenshots.

Is your Blockland Folder in C:/Blockland? And how is your name pronounced?

C:/Program Files/Blockland.
If it helps, it always asks me for Administrator Priviledges (which I have) to do anything in the BL folder.
Running as an administrator doesn't do anything.

"My-ga"

Does that to me too, I am the only user on my laptop but it says I don't have administrative right to download patches for games I have, so I have to run them as administrator, Right-click, and then click it and approve when a window pops up.

Oh, I didn't point that out before. I've already ran it as an Administrator. It lets me download stuff, but it's putting it somewhere else besides the Blockland directory. It's something to do with Windows 7, where you need Administrator Priviledges to modify/add/remove anything in Program Files. It's putting it somewhere else because of this, administrator or not for some reason.

Blockland can still read the files though, so they are in fact saved to my Hard Drive. But where?
Even on removing C:/Program Files/Blockland/saves, it still shows up all of my saves (not the default blockland ones).
This is very confusing.

Windows Vista & 7 have a mechanism where they store all application-created files in a secret cache. If you're running Vista or Windows 7 you should always install Blockland directly to the C: drive and not into the Program Files folder.

The cache should be somewhere like:

"C:\Users\YourUser\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Blockland\"

God damn.
Why does Microsoft do this sort of thing.
Thanks.
