Did you download AIM/MSN recently?

Because if you did, then you most likely are dealing with a bug. So don't get rid of WMP yet.

Edit: What does it say if you try and open/play a song?

It has that yellow box that asks for permission to open setup_wm.exe, and then when I say "Allow" it has a compatibility issue.

This is Wmp classic http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm It contains the player and all the codecs so you can open practically any file type. enjoy :D

I think it has XP download links only because WMP 11 is built into Vista.
