Oh boy, another "OMFG, WE ALL GUNNA DIE" story.  Sure, a solor storm CAN cause blackouts, but that is worst case scenario.  It is mose likely to just interfere with electronics, like a sunspot might.

forget! Nooo! stuff! That means our Ozone layer will disapear and we will burn to death... Ok I'll see you guys.

Bai

Someone was watching the Knowing way too many times. *facepalm*

It's unlikely as they said.  Honestly, we're more likely to be hit with an EMP that would fry all of our electronics.

Watching what? This is the homepage for my Internet browser, and I saw it right there. I looked at it, and posted it.

@Lord Pie
Hopefully.

The latest Nicholas Cage movie called "The Knowing" I doubt any of you would be interested in seeing it. I thought it was rather lame. But long story short, earth gets blasted with a solar ray from the sun ripping the ozone layer from it and torching all life.

LOL, that will happen in 83629000 years

EMP's currently use too much power to be used on the scale scifi makes it to come out as. You might as well just do it by using an atomic bomb or putting magnets on every computer in the city.
