Author Topic: How many add ons?  (Read 1023 times)

Hey guys, I just finished downloading and registering the game, I join my first server and Oh My Days, how many add ons? Currently the count if 5 mins just sat here downloading new content - dont get me wrong, I love it. All this extra stuff for free, and I also like that you can chat to players while connecting to the server.

Just wondering really if there are any servers (which anyone knows of) which run just the basic bog standard Blockland?

badspot's server(s)

badspot's server(s)

And very few others.
I suggest having a look around and downloading some add-ons that you want.

One thing that you should download, is the Return to Blockland add-on. It is very useful and can even download add-ons while in game. Click me for Forum Topic!

You're going to get used to downloading for about the first week or so.  When I first got the game, I just went to a couple servers and did something else while everything downloaded.  It'll be worth it, trust me.

While you're waiting for a load, you can play a game or two of Tetris. Fully client-sided, you just have to bind a key and then you can play it at any time ingame.

Tycell, once you start to join more servers and play a little more. The wait and load will become lessa nd less each time. The best thing to do it wait it out, or you just have to deal with it later. Also, to avoid this if you don't want to wait. Download a lot of the things you don't have.

There isn't really a lot else to do other than download Add-Ons. i suggest getting a few good ones, preferaly ones you can imagine most people will have (Like JVS Doors) or any ones that will help you. But after you play on a few servers the time needed to connect to them will lower, eventually you will need less and less Add-Ons.

Tycell I highly recommend you get Return to Blockland its an Add-on that tell you what servers have what add-on (If any at all), it also allows you to simply download add-ons from the RTB hosting service rather then downloading it off a server which is extremely slow. RTB is pretty much a Must these days.

Usually all the freebuild don't (Or shouldn't) bog down their servers with guns that shouldn't be used because it is a freebuild. Badspot's servers never use add-ons really.

Don't join servers that say TONS OF ADDONS!!! if you don't want to have to wait a long time. I joined one of those servers, and went to do something else, came back half an hour later and it was still loading.

And back in V9 I had a hell of a lot of Add-Ons.
