Hell isn't a swear word at all. It can be used as an insult/threat though, however on its own it's not a swear word. I mean it's in the bible alone, so i doubt it's a swear word, because i dont see;

Funny, I am a Christian, and don't think that hell is a swear word.  It can only be considered a swear word by me when used in a specific context, as in when someone uses it to replace another, real, swear word, like in "What the ..."

Not even. What they mean by swearing is: "I swear to god" or "I swear on the bible".

I doubt anyone in that time period said "forget you" or "forget off dumbass" to each other.
