Opinions? Better offer elseware? It has several features I love:

It apparently has room for 2 HDD's something I can totally use
Button for launching an instant on OS. Considering I sue my laptop for two minutes to google something makes this very nice.
Cheap
Little LED screen showing CPU temps
Full keyboard
Powerful
Unlocked BIO's, overclocking's a breese apparently

I now <3 Asus, I just need $1300. I ahve about 650 right now, and my brother's willing to pay like $500 for some reason :/. (I don't think I can bring myself to take that from him though, he's saved that up for a bit now). Still, it looks epic.

Sorry trader, thinkpads may look like they can withstand anything, but this one just has more features and a better price. Sorry  :panda:

It's probably best that you talk to bones about the laptop. He's just got a knack for these sorts of things, ya'know?

I know enough that this is a wonderful laptop.  I also know its really, really cheap for what it does. I'm just wondering if anyone has any input on whether there's a better laptop for the value out there.

Heyyyyyy I saw the same laptop at my local Best Buy and it was around 1000 bucks. D: Why can't I save up money........

Way too thick and heavy. 6 pounds isn't actually too bad, thinking about it.
Just get a desktop PC. Laptops aren't meant for gaming, and you won't be able to take that laptop anywhere.

I have a lot of complaints with Asus.
When I got my Eee PC 701, first, they didn't include all the accessories with my Eee. It was missing the little carrying case that came along with it, but I didn't really need it. The battery started charging less and less almost immediately after buying it, I contacted them about it and they said "it was normal". So, I had to bring the charger everywhere, and when I was getting tired of the battery losing it's battery life all the sudden, I looked all over Asus' website for a battery, and they didn't even sell them. I called them up, they even said to me "We don't sell batteries"...

Oh yeah, and they voided my warranty because I added more RAM to it.

Just be sure not to talk to Bones about it.

I used a laptop for gaming but most of the time it was stuff since all of my games except spore and halo are on steam.

Sorry trader, thinkpads may look like they can withstand anything, but this one just has more features and a better price. Sorry  :panda:
Lol Trader told me to get a thinkpad to when i was looking for my sister.

Why would you sue your laptop?
EDIT: It's way better then my desktop PC that I'm hosting a dedi'd on right now.

T40

Thats my lappy, made in 2002 and it still works like a charm in MODERN ages. Though what laptop you get really depends on what you want it for? Is it your "Desktop" computer? I got my lappy because I wanted to be able to do simple tasks and occasionally MS3D away from my desktop, I'll also be using it next year at my 3D course. Not the most powerful, but it gets the job done and its not slow :3

I sold a similar laptop like yours, Packer. It had no trackpad, just the little red joystick-mouse thing. It sold with a lot of stuff. It even had the docking station. What's your ThinkPad's specs?

Oh, and considering that my Eee doesn't have a good battery anymore, and the fact that it can't run any sort of games, I'm gonna most likely get an HP Mini Note 1000 XP for High School next year. (My high school allows laptops for every class :D)
