Author Topic: Irony and Sarcasm  (Read 2331 times)

I don't really get some peoples. They say something sarcastic and then when I actually answer something to it they answer with: "That' was ironic you idiot/handicap/friend/dumbass/mama poop richard dad licker go die!!!1."

Maybe I'm totally wrong but isn't ironic the adj. of irony? So it means they are saying that their sarcasm was irony what is wrong.
It's really annoying and when I try to explain it they disagree.

Ironic:
Player one sees player two crashing into a car. Player one said dumbass to player two and crashed into a car.

Sarcasm:
Player one tells a booring story and player two answers with: "Yeah, obviously a good story, seriously."

Or am I on the wrong train now? Because it's really annoying me.

when you say 'oh goodie' when your teacher says 'you're failing the class', you're using irony

when you say 'oh goodie' when your teacher says 'you're failing the class', you're using irony
Or by calling a guy taller than you "tiny" It's an 80s thing.

when you say 'oh goodie' when your teacher says 'you're failing the class', you're using irony
At first I thought you were serious.

OH I GET IT

At first I thought you were serious.

OH I GET IT

You know sarcasm was invented by Levi bar Biff :o

Irony and sarcasm are 2 of the greatest things ever invented.

So, am I wrong now?

kinda

there are many different kinds of irony though.

when you say 'oh goodie' when your teacher says 'you're failing the class', you're using irony
No

I think this would belong more in drama.

People who misuse these things probably weren't funny to begin with.

are you guys brothers or something?

no........YEEESSSSSSS!!!!
hahahhahh

It could be taken as both sarcasm and irony
Irony would be when teacher says that after you say oh goodie. Or what?
