New Graphics card

I was looking for new graphics card because my current does not support pixel shader 1.1 or higher which is required for tf2. Also I was hoping for a graphics card that didn't cost too much for what I need. My buget is about $30-$50 at most(lower priced graphics cards would be nice but that's my highest).

I found a guide on updating your graphics card and it suggested if the computer is 3 years old or older you should buy a new computer instead of replacing. Mine is about 6 years old should I replace it?

First, we need to know what type of slots do you have. PCI/AGP/PCIE?

Then we need to know how much the budget is, and probably your whole entire computer specs, as computer needs to be balanced.

Back in like 2004. Barely ran Age of Mythology.

Also why the hell are you looking at a 5 series? That's REALLY old and probably can't play most of today's games properly.
If you're cheap go for the 8600GT.

Well I can't find any high end cards on Nvidia's side for AGP, and ATI's numbering I have no clue how to know.

My graphics card has been running most games except TF2 which said my pixel shader is too low and i should have 1.1 or higher and this card i was looking at had 2.0

How about an ATI Radeon HD 3450?

Can't find a comparative benchmark between the FX5500 and the HD 3450 to prove it, but I am certain it would be a much better choice.
