Author Topic: New graphics card? Added specs to first post  (Read 981 times)

Im no good at this stuff, and I need a new one.
I can spend $183 if you find one at target ( I really doubt that target has graphics cards, but just sticking that out there.), if not at target i can spend $138. My current graphics card is an ATI VisionTek RADEON X1300. Its okay, but I have some games that have low fps D:
So, any good graphics card I can afford? I might not be able to get one because my mother says "It wont help". :P

What type of slots do you have? PCI/AGP/PCIE?

Specs here: http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/6075/6075sp2.shtml
I only have a loving 300 watt power supply, so i can either save up and get a new one and then buy the 9800GT or buy a card that my stuffty power supply can support.
edit: wait, is a PCI express (PCIE?) slot bad? I dont understand this stuff D:

From what people have been telling me I'm thinking you need more power too, good choice on video card. The 9800GT seems like the best way to spend a little over 100 bucks on graphics because you don't have to go over the edge in price, and it still delivers great performance, thats what I've heard anyway, I'm planning on getting one my self :)

The 8600GT is pretty good. I use a stock power supply. Only 50-60 bucks right now.

Locking. Thanks guys.
