Author Topic: Not exactly a normal day of school.  (Read 4611 times)

Well, today, a pipe broke at our school. May not sound that interesting, but you'll see why.

Last Thursday, a pair of idiots decided to see what would happen if they lit a bottle of rubber cement on fire. It of course caught on fire, and the contents caught the room on fire. The fire alarm was pulled, and the school was evacuated for awhile. I was glad to hear the fire was far away from my classroom, because I wasn't exactly fond of the thought of my stuff getting burnt. When we finally got to return, we had to stay in out 5th period classes, second to last period of the day, until school ended, and we all got to go home.

Today, however, with 4 minutes left in our 5th period class, the alarm went off again. We knew it couldn't be a drill, as choir classes from a few different districts had come to be judged at our school. So, as we're walking around the corner to the steps, we're thinking, "who started the fire THIS time"? We got halfway down the stairs, and realized that it wasn't a fire. It was a pipe that had burst, and the lobby area, I guess you could call it, had been turned into a swimming pool. As we walked through the only dry part to get to the doors leading outside, it dawned on us that we wouldn't want to go swimming in such a pool, considering it seemed to be filled with sewage. anti-freeze Yes, brown-ish liquid was gushing out of the ceiling. The smell was terrible, and people were trying to run through the small area affected by it as fast as they could, covering their faces with shirts and sweatshirts. It was really bad. It was really hot in there. It smelled terrible. When everyone was outside, we were all shooed over to another parking lot, and after about an hour of waiting, they allowed us to leave. Luckily, I had taken my personal belongings with me (with the exception of my school papers, but everyone had left that stuff) so I got a ride home from a friend. Now everyone's wondering what the hell is going to happen next. If I learn anything else, I'll post.

Hoping that this will cause there to be no school tomorrow, I need another day off. :P
We have school today.

tl;dr -- Air-conditioning pipe broke, ceiling rained brown anti-freeze.

Yeah, I love making school up in the summer!

You have an interesting school.

Yeah, I love making school up in the summer!

Only if we exceed a certain amount of time. We still have another few days worth of school to waste in our reserves.

Lucky, no school.
That's what you got from that? I'd rather just have a normal school day than have stuff rain on me :cookieMonster:

Nobody actually got stuff-splattered, I'll draw a quick picture of what was going on.

So why exactly did they make you stay yet another hour standing around in a parking lot after herding you around for an hour?

It's like, you don't get the day credit if you aren't actually doing school and just screwing around in a parking lot, so there was no reason for them to keep you there.

They should've just let you go home.

They should've just let you go home.

That's what we all said.

Also, diagram:

The "affected area" was warm, nasty, and steamy. I almost puked.

Sounds like a stuff school, terrible pun.

I think your story is full of stuff.
Did the pipe exploding have anything to do with the morons the day before?

Nope.

Someone clogged a toilet, the plumber cut the wrong pipe, middle of winter entire class in the stands in the football pitch. No jackets, we were just told to leave.

Turns out the water was in the wires.

I didn't go to school because it rained buckets and it got very flooded.
