I just think its funny watching people post over and over again about "New, working OnVehicleTouch!" and "I FIXED IT OnVehicleTouch". It just makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time.

I was using one that perfectly fine, well until it suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason, and my whole build, which consisted of onvehicletouch, was left completely useless...

what is the obsession with onvehicletouch anyways?
what is everyone using it for that makes it such a big damn deal

Excatly. It stopped working. No-ones ever made one since.

it's not that it doesn't work

it spams a check, to see if there's a vehicle touching it





you might not know it, but it's a really inefficient way to go about it and it kindof lags up the server.

It makes for some good events. I.E. using onVariable events and ifAdmin or something.

And for Portal builds O:

I'm a big fan of "hidden-detached" builds, where the build isn't really all in the same place, so you go in one room, and technically, you're in a whole nother building, but the player doesn't know that, so he thinks that he's just entered the next room in the house, or whatever.

Just think, with a good onVehicleTouch, you could drive the jeep into the garage, and have the car and yourself be transported into a separate garage made to look like the original one from the inside.

Tried this but didn't work for the cobra heli I was using.

There's been three.. working Add-ons that do this..

Bots work fine, I like my little newb cewbs.

Use ZoneEvents. Also, you need the vehicle output events for it. If you want it without the onVehicleTouch, you can ask me. It only includes output events which work with the ZoneEvents.

Using ZoneBricks is the best idea, because it most closely replicates onVehicleTouch, and does not make you make your zones, and all you have to do is drive into it.

I have the first one made, its still up, and it works perfectly fine there are just some situationsa I think where it wont work correctly.
