Steal it!

Traps could require some kind of maintenance or be disarmed if shot at or wrenched or something - physical guards would be the most effective measure.

Okay, steal it. So hide your materials :D

Traps sound good. We'll need to modify the wrench events system a little, by the way - disable some of them, make the rest cost material/advanced material or whatever.

My freakin mom wont let me buy blockland by mail. I WANT IT SO BAD SO I CAN PLAY THIS WHEN IT COMES OUT.

Wait, what? You've been on the forums for quite some time now and you still don't have BL?

As for Raiding, to make it very simple, make it so that there is a safty of some kind. Have it so that players can only take so many resources from a base, so that way the owner still has a few left to work with. Also, maybe create something where the more resources a player is holding, the slower the player is. That would kinda force the player into storing their resources in their base, allowing raids to become commonplace. Another quick idea is maybe a backpack mod of sorts that lets players carry more resources than they normally could without losing speed.

Traps could be created using an extremely rudimentary set of bricks linked with the wrench - somewhat like my old Trap Bricks, where you could link certain kinds of "Triggers" with different "Traps".

Laser Sight (visible beam)
IR Sight (invisible beam but more expensive)
Pressure Plate
Fake Safe
Button
---
Various Doors (if not set, they'd function like normal JVS doors)
Turret
Disappearing Plate
Spike (could appear on a trigger or always be activated if not connected)

@Tom's last post: What do you mean, get there location? Teleporting? No. We're gonna use the compass mod, or some variation of it, though. Not GPS, though - just a good ol old-fashioned compass.
The compass mod is clientside. We need a basic way where everyone can get there location whenever they want. A server-side compass would be nice, but I think people would be too lazy to check it before the run off to start there camp. If people don't know where they are, they can't form teams as easily. And "By the lake" isn't enough because of the repeating terrain.

Also, the scripters need to set up some priorities before we bite off more then we can chew, we have alot of good ideas, but we can't do any of them before we get some basic things set up.

A very short to do list.
Finish Resources.
Finish Hunting.

I think there definetly needs to be another way to get food... but what?

Small plants. Very small. This is a tundra.

Because my mom thinks that if I send it by mail we will be exposing our adress to the world.
When she has already bought stuff online before but never told me how she paid for it...

Credit card... and besides, your address? It's not like someones going to come murder you because they saw your address on a letter. That sucks dude.

I don't think we should have it so offline players' builds are de-rendered/de-collisioned. There should be an alternative way, like hiding resources. I don't know how we'll have people take over a camp, but it surely won't be by just standing there. We could have a bear trap like my landmine, where if you step on it, it does stuff. We have all these great ideas, but we still need to get the basics completely done. Like Tom said. We will take most of your ideas in to this, but mind you, this mod won't be done (and be good for that matter) in a flash.

'Taking Over' shouldn't need much special interaction. If you're in the base and you're defending it from others, you control it. No special designation or variables or whatever.

That's what I was thinking.

Yes, I know we need the basics done. Unfortunately, none of the scripters bother telling what's going on until they're finished, so I just work on what I can.

Tom

Heat/Hunger is pretty much finished.
Saving is pretty much finished.
Hunting is about 50% done.

Lego, or anybody else, for our second map should I put some bridges and such? I mean I know it's the artic and everyone's trying to survive but the bridge may be useful considering the only two other ways to get across are:

Swimming, may take some time, possibility of dying of heat loss.

Boating, same here ^

No don't put  bridges, we'll allow the players to build them/brave the water.
