You used to have a bar, and weapons had a weight value that counted towards the bar, so you could only hold a certain amount of weapons. You had a bunch of people holding different weapons and specializing in using these weapons that others don't have.
Oh, as neat as that sounds, i hate limits, so i guess i'm happy it doesn't have that :o

Oh and you didn't use to scream "COVER ME WHILE I RELOAD" in the old synergy
I don't say that every time i reload my weapon, sometimes, but not all the times, i don't see how that's annoying :/

It was optional.

They also had a few cool weapons like a flare gun that ignited whatever AI you shot it at, an SL8 sniper rifle, and some edited version of the AR2 with a custom model.

Also lots of custom maps that were just golden.

Hmm, wow, why DID they remove those i wonder? :o

They tried to "Valve-ize" it I'm guessing.

Half-Life 2 just wasn't made for co-op.

But Synergy is fun.

You can still download the old Synergy by simply Googling it.

When im reloading, I want people to cover me.

True...

There's also an MP5K, but I'm not sure if it's actually much better than the MP7. It sounds awesome, though.

There used to be a million custom maps that were all fun and made for co-op, but the engine change/removed content broke all the custom maps, and now nobody maps. :(

Play the old Synergy then. Somebody needs to host a server on the old one, because there's only like 2 servers and one's Russian and the other seems to not be up all the time.

Yeah, I'm totally going to play a co-op game alone.

Bump

Just so you all know, there's a neat technique called 'Prop Hopping', what you do it find a prop you can grab and hop on, like a wooden box or a metal barrel (Not the explosive kind :cookieMonster: ) and you put it up against a wall or a corner, hop on it, and constantly press Spacebar and E (Jump and Action key), you'll propel yourself in the air little by little with this trick, you can get to really high places, you may fall down in the process of doing this, but it takes practice, some areas you can't Prop Hop due to an invisible wall or ceiling

Prop Hopping can help in certain maps where the level has stopped continuing for some reason, like on Water Hazard where you gotta destroy the explosive barrels to knock the giant metal beam into the gate that is blocking the path of your Airboat, but instead of the beam hitting the gate, it goes back and gets stuck on the wooden pole, at the front of the gate, you'll see a small corner to the right, the corner has a straight wall facing outward, but has a wall slanted to the left, put the barrel up against the straight wall, hop on it, then hop while grabbing the prop under you, eventually, you'll make it on top of the gate, either on the bridge or on the actual gate, if you're on the gate, you must crouch to get past the bars that are in the way, and if you have enough health (Unlike i did), you can get past the Retrocops and APC's and get to the end of the level, Prop Hopping can also be used for fun, like getting to high areas in Eli's Scrapyard :D

Prop Hopping is easier to do on the PC, if you're playing Half Life 2 on the Xbox, it's really tough and annoying
