Author Topic: JVS Type doors  (Read 2733 times)

Hello, I was wondering what i would need to include for making doors joint wise. I heard something about an example door but I searched and couldn't find it. Does anyone know where it is or is willing to tell me what I need.

I need to know:
Animations need
Animation names
Joints needed
Joint names

I know you might say "You can name your own animations and name your own joints." I know that. I just want to know the default ones so I can just test out mine and then tweak it up. Note, I am not trying to steal Bushido's idea of a door pack. I just thought it would be cool maing your own doors and I wanted to give it a try.

You dont need any joints the only joints you need is for animation. Example: I made a bookcase door, the only joint i have is the joint needed to move it.
And for the animations download the file Door_Example.cs on the JVS forum page.

Ok, any collision mesh needed?

Also, I see a shape called Doordebriscastle, doordebrisscreen etc. What is contained in them?

Possibly debris when you blow the doors up?

You don't need collison. But about the debris, idk i just put the model of the door shape and renamed in there and it works.

Ok, can someone send me a ms3d or blender file so I can see.

The debris file is the same as the normal DTS, except with no animations and textured entirely with black.png instead of colours/blank.png so the door appears burned when it explodes.

Ok, thanks. I will work on the door and get back to everyone with my progress. Also, what size should the door be?

any size. If you're making a weirdly sized one then you'll need a new BLB file.

Yea, I know except I suck at making blbs because I don't really understand what to change.

Also, collision mesh needed? Cyclic animations?

Ok, now I need to know how to add a brick catagory so it is not under jvs because when it is, it glitches and doesn't load.

No collison no cyclic
