Author Topic: Ladios does an Baklava! :D  (Read 6646 times)

I love baking. And I love baklava! So what do I do? Make some baklava myself!
(this was actually for a project for my Shakespeare class where we had to do food from countries that his plays take place in, Midsummernight's dream takes place in greece so I chose that and made this delicious food...) (Yes I know it is actually turkish by origin but it is most commonly associated with the greeks) (Lol constantly decreasing text size)

Le ingrediants

Step 1: chop up walnuts... but why waste my time chopping them when I can blend them? >:D

... because appearantly they turn to dust when you do that...

Phyllo dough is a bitch.... it rips if you move it even a millimeter in the direction it doesnt want to go... which is any direction but the one you need to move it...

Alternating layers of phyllo dough and butter with four layers of a walnut/cinnamon/sugar mixture put in oven to bake for an hour

And while we are waiting for that, lets make the honey sauce topping! >:D

And when you are done, you get one of the most delicious pastry-like things ever!

I'll trade you a seven-layer-cookie for it.

Ladios strike another pose :D
Edit:Lovely kitchen :o Is that real granite or is it marble :o

I don't like baklava, but cool anyway.

My kitchen counters are made of the same... marble... stuff.

My kitchen is 70s looking :(

I expected to see pictures of you knitting a balaclava.

I was sadly mistaken. D:

Ladios is lovey :o

Now I wanna go make baklava.
