Author Topic: My dad will teach me Programming This summer!  (Read 2121 times)

Yes, any tips/preferred tutorial programs that could help me?

I'm sure your dad would have some.

He's teaching you, after all.

Well, I'm compiling a binder of notes and functions that I'm going to use to study some Torquescript, you want I scan 'n post.
(I'm not typing it, no way in hell, I can try, but it won't work too well for my laziness.)

Why you talking them crazy talk?

It's good to have someone in your family who can teach you that, other then being the "independent" one to go to school for it, coming from a family that couldn't figure out how to turn the computer on...

My step-dads a programmer (C++, C#, Python, other stuff)
Moms a technical writer for a 3D cad program

I'm planning to get a degree in Computer Science, which my mom was actually going to do but she fell in love with technical writing.

Anyway, I'm taking C as a freshman.

I would be taking computer programming, but our school sucks balls, and it got cut after I scheduled it.

Son of a BITCH Taking it as a junior... 2 years I had to learn HTML and JavaScript... and Finally learning C++...

I'm taking a computer programming class.

All we do is Visual Studio. It sucks.
This is the first time the guy actually taught computer programming. The class sucks.
Me and my friends don't do stuff in that class.

I would be doing something proactive in mine but we are making video games. Game maker is nice but not good enough of a programming type thing to teach us programming. It is more about the habits you use. All of which I have been using for a few years now. So i just slack off and play flash games and do a bit of work after each level.

We did some simple C# in IPT earlier in the year.

Yeah after JavaScript this year we learned how to... FLOWCHART! Yay! loving WORST thing ever to do for a program, Why should I do extra work to show someone how my program works when they could not be loving handicapped and learn the Damn Language themselves.

Well, we're doing SQL in IPT now. Except, we dont have a good SQL program so we have to try and make normal SQL work in Access's handicapped version of SQL. It Mostly works, but Access being Access somethings sometimes screw up.
