Author Topic: Help, I recieved a virus.  (Read 2051 times)

I've been browsing on some sites, until I clicked one of them and a virus appeared, I've been aborting the connection with avast!. But then Security Center pops up and says that I don't have a virus protector. I knew it was a lie, and used task manager to remove the website. Is the virus still in?

If you didn't click anything, you're fine. Better check though.

Offtopic:
Sometimes I hate some teachers at our school that believe that you shouldn't open unknown file types.

You l should check for adware/spyware and viruses just to be safe.

Also, do you have the site?

PM it to me :)

is it one of them "viruses" that popup to have you buy an adware thing to get rid of itself? lol

Once I went to a website that tried to mimic a windows folder window that suddenly started reporting all sorts of viruses, the best part was i was using a mac :d

Adware is a friend, you won't be able to delete it via a processes list and it probably doesn't appear in windows explorer. Your best bet is to do an adware sweep, and chuck out all your temporary internet files.

Oh wait, we're talking about computers.

This is why you shouldn't spend your free time watching research >:U

try putting it in the virus vault; it will suppress it effects, but not destroy it. here is what i was going to try, but i never got around to it. whenever the virus warning box shows up, look at the address for the file, and open computer, go there, and delete the file. i've never tried it, but i think it will work.

I lawl'd. At the comment, and the avatar.

Viruses can be tricky. :(

I just don't click anything if I think I'm on a suspicious site, but I guess you can still get a virus be connecting to the site in the first place. :(
